Hip & SI Joint Pain
Pain in the hip, groin, or buttock — including the commonly missed sacroiliac joint.
Understanding it
The sacroiliac joint is responsible for up to a quarter of 'low back pain' and is frequently missed because it mimics lumbar spine pain. Image-guided injection both confirms the diagnosis and treats it; radiofrequency ablation extends relief for well-selected patients. True hip joint pain and bursitis have their own targeted options.
When to seek care
One-sided pain near the dimple of the low back or deep buttock pain with standing transitions deserves an SI-joint-aware evaluation.
